Screendollars is a Hollywood movie and entertainment platform that collects, organizes, and publishes information on films, stars, and the wider industry, connecting movie enthusiasts and industry professionals with news, data, video, and each other.
With a 200,000-strong weekly newsletter audience but a brochure-style website that didn't match the brand's scale, Screendollars came to Mavlers for an offshore team that could build a structured digital home for their content and then scale it across every channel.

Channels unified (Web Β· SEO Β· Email Β· Social)
A 200,000-reader newsletter audience was being sent to a basic, static site that couldn't showcase the breadth of content.
Casual movie enthusiasts and industry professionals (theatre owners, vendors, exhibitors, technicians) needed fundamentally different information architectures.
10,000+ movies, plus actors, directors, theatres, distributors, exhibitors, and film festivals across the U.S. and Canada, all of which need a structured, browsable presentation.
Screendollars needed an offshore team that could work in their hours with strong communication, not a black-box dev shop.
The existing in-house email setup couldn't keep up with the newsletter audience's growth or open the door to new lifecycle channels.
Frontend developer, Backend developer, QA, and Project Manager assembled before design started, working in Screendollars' time zone.
Split the experience into clear paths for movie enthusiasts (News, Reviews, Top Ten, Genre pages) and a dedicated Screendollars Pro section for industry professionals with upcoming-movie data, projected box office, awareness/interest graphs, and advance ticket data.
React with Next.js on the frontend, WordPress admin on the backend, and Dreamhost for hosting and database, designed for long-term content growth.
Scrum sheets to track progress, plan new development, and surface and resolve issues, keeping a remote team in lockstep with the client.
Added SEO and SEM specialists, migrated email to Mailchimp for scalable newsletter delivery, and built an active social presence across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and X.

Successful migration of 9,000+ pages across 12+ languages, with no critical downtime.

Multi-channel strategy driving 50%+ monthly registration growth.

Ogilvy needed to scale SEO delivery across multiple markets without expanding headcount. Mavlers stepped in as their invisible production partner.
